October ARTwalk9/25/2014 Our next version of ARTwalk is on October 3rd, from 5-9. Take the trolley around downtown, but start your trip at the Chehalem Cultural Center where the Art Harvest Studio Tour is holding a reception to present a group show of the tour artists. Newberg HS Drama will also be perform selections from "Oklahoma" and Regan Call will be delight our ears with her cello. Other highlights include Purple Cow and Fox Farm Wine Bar and their "All in the Family" group art show. Tastes are $5 for a flight. We have artists featured at: American Family Insurance: Graham Rankin, cork art Art Elements Gallery: Marla Baggetta, landscapes Artisanal Wine Cellers: Jess Garret, new works Blue Trout Gallery's Gary Buhler, watercolor and acrylic Brown, Tarlow et al: Susan Faye, watercolors Chehalem Cultual Center: Art Harvest Studio Tour, NHS Drama and Cello by Regan Call Cliff Creek Cellars: Anne Marcom;s Eco Photography Cusick Picture Frame: Jennifer Wilcox, acrylic & Japanese brushwork Longplay Wine: Ron Moist, wood sculpture Many other venues are featuring wines such as Lange at Subterra, a Wine Cellar Restaurant, Long Brewing (beer)at Newberg Law, Purple Cow & Fox Farm Wine Bar, Nap's Thriftway, Chehalem Visitor Center, Cliff Creek Cellars, Artisanal Wine Cellars, Cathedral Ridge at Ben Jaquith's AmFam Insurance. Many other shops have food tasting, popcorn of the month (Pulp & Circumstance) and other fun things to enjoy. So come out and get to know Newberg's Front Room. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I spent the 4th at the Newel House for a traditional holiday with a reading of the Declaration of Independence and singing patriotic songs. Beautiful location, history, friends and of course great eats.
For ARTwalk this month we have some real highlights. Check out Art Elements Gallery for thier one woman show Dreamscapes by Lori Latham wutg the artist reception on July 26 from 4-6 pm Francis Square will also be busy with the Jazz sounds of the Newberg Brass. A local 5 man jazz and brass band with over 20 years. Our featured artist this month is Whitney Ferweda with traditional and digital artwork. Don't forget the Trolley for a fun ride between venues. Come out an enjoy and evening of Art, Wine and Music in Downtown Newberg. June ARTwalk5/17/2014 It's coming in 2 weeks. The June edition of ARTwalk. Lots of fun things happening. Pulp & Circumstance is celebrating thier 1 year Anniversary. It's hard to beleive it's been a year. P & P is such a fixture in the community that if feels as if they have been here longer than that. Purple Cow Tasting Room has joined The Fox Farm Wine Bar in the 606 E First St location. Rendered is trading libations for food for F.I.S.H. Bring two cans or non-perishable food item. Francis Square: Chehalem Garden Club, artistic containers, techniques and tips for summer planting, your gardening questions answered. Herb enhanced treats with herbs from the Hoover Minthorn Garden There is so much happening that you need to get on down here to Downtown Newberg for the June 6 ARTwalk Remeber we won't be having ARTwalk in July as it falls on the 4th and we want everyone to enjoy the holiday with friends, family and fireworks. ARTwalk March 72/16/2014 So, Snowmagedon ate ARTwalk. Our businesses had really prepped for the February Valentine's ARTwalk and it hurt not to be open. Please support these businesses during the balance of February and the March 7 ARTwalk.
Featured for March New Businesses: Purple Cow Tasting Room at 105 N Main. They will be featuring the photography of Brenda Somes All People Yoga at 109 Blaine St (the Quonset). Grand Opening and featuring photography by Cindy Rose, dancing after 7:30pm with DJ Jess Deinne Oregon Reiki Center at 408 E First St. Grand Opening under new owners. Featuring: Massage, specials, and a 20 minute intro to Access Consciousness for $20. The Featured artists for March are Brenda Sommes, photograhy at Purple Cow Makoto Fujimura, international artist's paintings at the Chehalem Cultural Center as well as an exhibit by Studio Art Quilter's Association Come out, join us. Activities: Please join us n Downtown for Santa, Tree Lighting and bundles of other activities. Help us welcome Critter Cabana back to their downtown home. They are having a huge kickoff party with all kinds special happenings. The Library will be open with the kids craft sale. The Cultural Center has ornament painting and an new exhibit of "Emerging Northwest" a wonderful exhibit of emerging artists and the Holiday Artisan Market. Art Exhibits, wine tasting music, oh, and a theater open house at the Masonic Lodge. Valley Repertory Theater will be presenting "A Lion in Winter" starting at 7:30. Stop by for Wine, Wassail and Christmas treats before the show. Art and More: Art Elements is having Marilyn Higginson's paintings and sculpture. Cusick Picture Framing has an amazing pastel artist, Janelle Loewen. Gary Buhler's wonderful paintings, Chriss tTupp watercolors and at the Chehelem Valley Chamber of Commerce, Ron Moist at Longplay, Coffee Cottage has two artists LInda Workman-Morelly with Pit-fired ceramics and Marueen Bennet with Anime.
