Merry Holidays - December 1st ARTwalk11/28/2017 The holiday season is upon is and there so many wonderful ways to support your local artists and small business.
One: The Art of Gifting at Art Elements Gallery. All the gallery artists have created or brought in small works that are very affordable. What a great way to build a collection. or Two: Build a Christmas Card with Elizabeth Zimmerman at Anvil Academy; check out the art & jewelry at Cliff Creek Cellars; pastel paintings by Mary Weil at Newberg Las and The Dusty Divas (Kris Horn, Donna Sires, Beth Keyser & Donna Stevens at Cusick Picture Frame. or Three: 4 different shows at the Chehalem Cultural Center with lots of art to buy. Artisanal is showing Elizabeth Berg, Chehalem Tasting Room has Jonesing for Hope, or Four: All People Yoga celebrating their 4th Anniversary in the Hut with a block party with Music-Urban Shaman Didgeridoo, Tie-Dye, Jewelry, Chehalem Brewery, Thomas & Sons Distillery, Willful Wine and Juices Pancake Lounge. November 9th ARTwalk10/20/2017 Wow! So much is happening in Downtown Newberg. Almost every business has art, wine, and a couple also have music. We have 13 artists which I think is a record.
Since, November is usually the fist ARTwalk with nasty weather it is often slower (people don't want to venture out into the rain, at first). There is a 52% chance of rain according the the Weather Channel app. Let's make this the exception and support our downtown businesses, the artists they are hosting, show your true Oregonian colors and come out in droves. Come out and buy Art, taste wine and enjoy 'your' downtown. The gallery of images below is a hint of the fun things waiting for you at ARTwalk See you out there! Sally October 6, 2017 ARTwalk9/21/2017 Come join us for the First ARTwalk of the Fall Season. Lots to see, cooler weather and a chance to meet and greet your neighbors and local business owners

Opening at First Friday Artwalk Friday, February 5, 2016 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Francis Park (corner of First and College) Subterra Restaurant, in conjunction with various departments of George Fox University and its students, has funded the start of a community soup program to raise awareness of local food insecurity while celebrating the diversity of society through food and art. Back in December of 2015 Subterra donated 25% of its gross proceeds generated during a lunch week as seed money to start a program to buy raw product for making hearty soups and housebaked breads. We were able to accumulate over $800! Soup and salad will be served in Francis Square in downtown Newberg during First Friday Artwalks throughout the winter, commencing Friday, February 5. Students from George Fox have made beautiful ceramic bowls for the occasion and will help with the marketing of the program and assisting in serving the meals. Meals will be given away at no cost, or on a Pay-What-You-Want model for those wishing to donate to the future of the program. Ceramic bowls will also be available for purchase. We plan to be open for First Friday Artwalk for February 5, March 4 and April 1 of 2016. Looking into the future, we hope this program will start to fund itself, and continue to feed those in need while integrating society in an artistic venue. Please come visit us and support our project! And please pass this along to anyone who might benefit from or be interested in participating in our program! I can, almost, guarantee great weather. Since our summer started a month early. Our featured artist this month is Theresa Andreas-O'Leary with a one woman show Hallowed Ground showing at Art Elements Gallery. Several businesses decided to take the month off and I can totally understand that. But, we have some great things happening. We have two new members: FORMWORX Design Studio at 111 N College St and they are showing the work of Hans D'Holosy, painter, muralist and Vilma Villaverde an Argentinian sculptor. Owen Eye Care at 620 E First St. Stop by and welcome them to Downtown Newberg. Watch for First Friday events and specials as well as ARTwalk. AuthorSally Dallas Archives
